Burgundians in Limburg

The people of Limburg are known as ‘true Burgundians’. We think of ourselves as loving fine dining, socialising, and large, lengthy celebrations. But how Burgundian is that really? Who were the Burgundians, who ruled over what we now call Limburg in the 15th century?

The unique exhibition Burgundians in Limburg allows you to take a step into the past. Let the distinctive music, beautiful objects and intriguing stories immerse you in the late Middle Ages. The exhibition focuses on three generations of Burgundians: the illustrious leaders Philip the Good, Charles the Bold and Mary the Rich.

Discover unknown Limburg stories from the late Middle Ages through incredible loans from leading national and international collections, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Musée des Châteaux de Versailles, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin and the Rijksmuseum. Imagine yourself in the encampment of the siege of Neuss and take a seat at the extravagant Feast of the Pheasant.

You can visit Burgundians in Limburg until 1 February 2026.

Please note: coat and bag policy

To ensure the safety of the objects on display, a stricter coat and bag policy will apply from 23 September 2025: coats and bags will not be allowed in the exhibition areas.
Alternatively, you can pick up a transparent plastic bag (max. A4 size) at the reception desk for medicines or personal items, for example.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
