Disabled persons

Accessible and welcoming

The Limburgs Museum has a number of special facilities for the disabled. Lifts and disabled toilets suitable for wheelchairs are available in the museum.

The closest disabled parking spaces are situated on the Deken van Oppensingel, at the side of the museum.

There are two ways to enter the museum. To the right of the stairs at the main entrance is a ramp to the entrance of the Museumcafé. Via the Museumcafé you can turn left to the museum. The second way to enter the museum is via the entrance to the left of the stairs at the main entrance (ground floor). You will be let into the museum and can then take the lift to the reception desk.

The museum has a number of wheelchairs available for the disabled and people with impaired mobility. These wheelchairs can be reserved in advance via +31 (0) 77-352 21 12 or info@limburgsmuseum.nl. The museum is also accessible for people with walking frames.

The museum is not accessible for mobility scooters. People who use a mobility scooter can borrow an E-motion wheelchair. With this wheelchair, the muscle power of the wheelchair user needed to propel the wheelchair is boosted by two compact electric motors in the wheels. This principle is similar to that of an electric bicycle. With it, visitors with impaired muscle power can visit the museum fully independently.

Guide dogs

Registered guide dogs are permitted in our museum (other pets are not allowed).

Larger groups of disabled with wheelchairs or walking frames can – as long as reported in advance – make use of an extra-large service lift. Report any such visit in advance via +31 77 352 2112 or via info@limburgsmuseum.nl. A tailored programme can also be offered. Discuss the possibilities with our Sales & Reservations department via +31 77 352 2112 or via reserveringen@limburgsmuseum.nl.
