Take a look in the kitchen

Food and eating culture 1795 - present

Food and drinks are part of daily life. Meals were usually prepared by the woman of the family and eaten together by the whole family. At first the most important function of the meal was nutrition. The flavour and presentation came second. Social and economic circumstances dictated the number of meals in a day, ingredients and variety. This changes in the sixties of the previous century. The cooking place, kitchen utensils and porcelain are an expression of the eating culture in different households.
